Ian Rush was signed from Chester in 1980 for £300,000 with a British transfer record for a teenager. Deputising for the injured Kenny Dalglish, Rush made his debut away against Ipswich on 13 December 1980 and went on to become a Liverpool legend netting 346 goals in 660 Liverpool appearances.
